This season is woven through with the thoughts and words of Aurélie William Levaux, a Belgian illustrator, writer and comic book author:
“You’ll see, there are certain phrases that keep cropping up in the programme: flouting conventions, deconstructing norms, celebrating life, seeking justice, making room for the unpredictable, blurring boundaries, being aware of our diversity, reclaiming history, celebrating diversity, disobeying, challenging domination, reconfiguring reality, experiencing one’s freedom. No wonder some people want to get rid of theatre and culture. For some, the programme, if you read it, is a bit like horror literature, worse than Stephen King, sort of. You look at it, and you have a heart attack on the spot."
