Francophonie Celebration Evening

The 31st edition of La langue française en fête will take place this year from 14 to 22 March. This annual event, organised by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation to promote the French language, is aimed at the general public. In Wallonia and Brussels, a host of fun and creative activities are taking place to have fun with the French language and discover it in a new light.
On Tuesday 17 March from 7pm, we will be hosting the Francophonie celebration evening at the Théâtre Varia, organised by Accueil | Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI), in collaboration with the Permanent Representation of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) to the European Union (RPUE).
This event is free and open to all, in the presence of the Minister-President of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Elisabeth Degryse, the Chief Executive of WBI, Pascale Delcomminette, and the OIF Representative to the EU, Mamadou Bamba Hanne.
The evening will feature slam poetry and rap, with Lisette Lombé, Z&T, and the winner of the Playground competition (Tarmac – RTBF)!
Evening programme 7.00 pm: arrival of the public and guests
7.45 pm: start of speeches
8.15 pm: start of concerts
9.30 pm: complimentary drinks and snacks at the theatre bar
Writing workshops, shows, poetic walks, storytelling sessions, literary tours, exciting competitions and many other activities will be on offer as part of this 31st edition of La langue française en fête.
