Job vacancy: Head of Administration, Finance and Accounting

Le Varia – Théâtre & Studio is one of the Performing Arts Centres of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. Based in Ixelles since its foundation in 1981, it houses two performance spaces (Studio, 120 seats, and Theatre, 280 seats), as well as various rehearsal spaces, offices, a meeting room and a flat (for artists) spread across two buildings. Its permanent team consists of 25 people.
Your responsibilities
— Develop and monitor the short-, medium- and long-term financial strategy.
— Oversee the administrative, financial and accounting management of the association.
— Supervise budgets, general and cost accounting, cash flow and tax obligations.
— Manage and supervise a team of three people: a human resources and commissioned productions manager (full-time), an accounts and administrative manager (32 hours per week) and a production manager (22.5 hours per week)
— Coordinate administrative and financial processes.
— Identify and develop sources of funding.
— Monitor legal and social developments, and oversee contracts and human resources.
— Represent the institution in dealings with public authorities, professional federations and sectoral committees.
— Contribute to strategic planning and the coordination of artistic and institutional projects.

Required profile
Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in a similar role, particularly in the cultural or voluntary
sector Proficiency in non-profit organisation accounting, grants and the Tax Shelter
scheme Strong skills in budget management, cash flow control and financial reporting Excellent knowledge of accounting software (BOB50 is an advantage) and advanced
Excel skills Ability to manage a team and lead strategic
projects Ability to work across departments, with a strong sense of organisation and rigour
Skills in negotiating partnerships and securing additional
funding Leadership and the ability to bring people together. Analytical mind, autonomy and diplomacy
