One evening, two shows: discover our double bill, *La Salope du Village* x *a l b u m*, at the Studio
In March, Studio Varia will host two shows that will join forces for a week of double-bill performances. This double bill will allow you to discover, in turn, two short shows that engage with one another on themes of emancipation: *La Salope du Village* and *a l b u m*.
At the heart of Pierrick De Luca’s La Salope du Village lies this observation: for many, a woman who embraces her sexuality and bears its marks is a ‘slut’. What is it about her that disturbs people so much? Why do so many people – including those who call themselves “open-minded and tolerant” – seem so offended by the sight of her? Why does this term – used as an insult – have no male equivalent?
Amandine Laval’s a l b u m is a choreographic and poetic solo in the form of a ritual of disalienation. To reclaim her power and once again become the protagonist of her own life. Just like on an album, the pieces of music flow one after another. Memories follow one another, tracing the paths of movement. From writing to dance, Amandine Laval dissects and revives the states, postures and defences of alienation.
To allow you to enjoy both these shows, we have introduced a combined ticket. Every evening (except Saturday, when times vary), La Salope du Village will take centre stage from 7.30pm before making way for the reading of a l b u m at 9pm.
📅 25–29 March at Studio Varia
