Before I go...

We just wanted to say: thank you!

The first half of the season is already over, and it is with great emotion that we wish you a wonderful festive season.

Thank you for the warm welcome you have given our new 23-24 programme. After unveiling our identity, brought to life by the eyes, hands and creative minds of Ekta and Bye bye binary, you have filled our venues to the brim.

First with “Bellissima” by Salvatore Calcagno, a magnificent production that immersed us in the meticulous detail of garçongarçon’s tableaux and cinema. “Belle Dame” by Jessica Fanhan took over at the studio, guiding us through a journey of witchcraft and self-discovery. Meanwhile, BOK brought the Place Flagey to life with a different kind of learning experience, highlighting the hidden knowledge of passers-by and residents of Ixelles.

After the new works came the revivals, starting with Nadine Baboy’s “Désintégration Culturelle”, celebrating identity, heritage and dance at the heart of the Theatre. We said “dacodak daco” when we were invited to see Thymios Fountas’s “Sauvez Bâtard”, which was sold out all week at the Studio. Finally, Yasmine Yahiatene’s performance once again left our audience spellbound. Not to mention the meeting with Louisa Yousfi, a topical moment that we’ll be bringing you very soon as a podcast.

Then it was your turn to take to the stage with “Peer Gynt” alongside Yoann Blanc, Guillemette Laurent and Catherine Salée. Another newcomer, Jo Libertiaux, mother of Cédric Eeckhout, then arrived at Les Tanneurs with “Héritage”. It was also the turn of the dead to take to the stage thanks to Jasmina Douieb’s “Post Mortem”, which was sold out all week. Don’t panic: you’ll be able to catch this one-woman show at the Vilar in the coming months.

How could we finish without “Ouragan”? A packed house on 20 December, electrified actors and a thrilling production were enough to lift us out of the winter chill and prepare us for the streets of Brussels, which will empty out until the 30th only to come alive on the 31st. Well done to Ilyas Mettioui and Zoé Janssens for this incredible premiere, and to Habib Ben Tanfous, who joined the team for this season.

Thank you and, above all, well done to you for being here. This season is a bit special for us, and seeing you arrive at the foyer, recognise us and smile, get swept up in our transformations and fill our theatres is more than precious.

Wishing you a wonderful festive season! And do take a look at our programme from January onwards by clicking right here.
